Onion Flakes Price: What Sets It
Dehydrated onion is priced per kilo or per metric tonne FOB. India is the world's largest exporter, and Mahuva prices lead the Indian market.
- Fresh onion crop: the Gujarat white-onion harvest (about Feb–May) and its price set the cost; 8–9 kg of fresh onion make 1 kg dry.
- Cut and grade: flakes and larger cuts are priced differently from powder.
- Micro grade: steam-sterilised low-micro lots cost more.
- Competition: Egypt, China and the USA also export; India averaged about US$ 1.96/kg in 2024.
- Freight: light cargo means fewer tonnes per container.
Prices move with the crop and the market, so we quote on the day. Tell us your grade, quantity and port for a current FOB, CFR or CIF price.
