Indian Agro Products for Africa, Documented Before the Vessel Sails
Three markets, each with its own licence, label language and pre-loading step.
Elysium Agri Corporation is an exporter in Jamnagar, Gujarat. We ship sesame, pulses, chickpeas, turmeric, dry ginger and seed spices to importers, wholesalers and food processors in Africa, from the ports of Mundra, Kandla and Pipavav. India is an established origin here: Egypt imported about 39,300 tonnes of sesame in 2024, and India was its third-largest supplier.
These markets share one feature: much of the work happens before loading. Your import registration, licence or permit must be in place first, and the shipping documents must match it. Choose your country below for the rules that apply to you.
Other Markets We Serve in Africa
Libya
Cargo for Libya moves by sea to ports such as Misrata, Tripoli, Al Khoms and Benghazi; routing and transit are confirmed with each quote. The Food and Drug Control Center tests imported food, and the Ministry of Economy and Trade issues import permits. Labels must be in Arabic, and a health certificate travels with the goods. Terms and payment routes are agreed case by case within applicable regulations.
What Buyers Across Africa Ask Us For
- Documents that match your import registration. In Egypt, the ACID number from the Nafeza single window is printed on the invoice and bill of lading. In Angola, a loading certificate is issued before sailing.
- Labels in your language: Arabic for Egypt and Libya, Portuguese for Angola. See Packaging.
- A Certificate of Analysis for each lot, because food is inspected or tested on arrival. Every export lot is tested at an NABL-accredited laboratory. See Lab Testing.
- Enough shelf life on arrival. Egypt asks for at least three months remaining on products with six months or more of total life; Angola asks for 25 percent.
- A clear landed cost. Indian goods have no duty preference in Egypt. Try our Landed Cost Calculator.
Frequently Asked Questions
What must be in place before you load our cargo?
An Egyptian importer registers the shipment on Nafeza and gives us the ACID number. An Angolan importer obtains the import licence against our pro-forma invoice, and a loading certificate is issued before sailing. A Libyan importer holds an import permit.
Is there a duty preference for Indian goods in these markets?
Not in Egypt, where the trade agreement with India is on a most-favoured-nation basis. We have found no preferential agreement with Angola or Libya. Ask your customs broker for the rate on your tariff line.
How long does shipping from India take?
It varies by routing. Red Sea disruption has affected freight between India and Egypt, so routing and transit are confirmed with each quote. Angola is served by transshipment; about 25 days is typical from Nhava Sheva to Luanda.
