Dried Ginger Slices (Ginger Flakes)
Elysium Agri exports dried ginger slices (ginger flakes) cut from fresh Indian ginger and dried to low moisture, for tea and infusion blenders, spice grinders, extractors and food manufacturers. We supply sun-dried slices and machine-dehydrated flakes in standard cut sizes, cleaned and tested for pesticides, ethylene oxide, aflatoxin and microbiology.
Slicing before drying gives a cleaner, brighter product that dries faster and more evenly than whole rhizomes, and it grinds and infuses well. Slices keep more of ginger's aroma than powder, so many buyers grind them at destination.

Dried Ginger Slices Price: What Sets It
Ginger slices are priced per metric tonne FOB. They follow the fresh-ginger market, plus the cost of slicing and drying.
- Fresh ginger price: the raw material; it swings sharply season to season.
- Drying method: dehydrated flakes cost more than sun-dried slices.
- Cut and size: uniform tea-bag cuts cost more than mixed flakes.
- Treatment: steam-treated low-micro lots carry a premium.
- Compliance: EU-grade testing and ETO certificates.
Prices move with the crop and the market, so we quote on the day. Tell us your grade, quantity and port for a current FOB, CFR or CIF price.
Tested, Certified and Traceable
Every lot of ginger slices is sampled and tested at an NABL-accredited or Spices Board lab for pesticide residues, ethylene oxide, aflatoxin, ochratoxin, lead and Salmonella. Indian ginger is listed in Annex II of the EU's border-control regulation for ethylene oxide (20% checks, Regulation (EU) 2019/1793 as amended by 2026/1206), so EU shipments carry the official ETO certificate.
- Lot sampling (Spices Board / NABL-accredited lab)
- Pesticides, ETO, aflatoxin, ochratoxin, lead and Salmonella tests
- Spices Board clearance and export documents

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What are dried ginger slices?
Dried ginger slices (ginger flakes) are fresh ginger rhizomes washed, sliced 2–5 mm thick and dried, either in the sun or in a hot-air dehydrator, to low moisture. They are used in teas, spice blends and for grinding or extraction.
What is the specification of dried ginger slices for export?
Export ginger slices typically have moisture ≤ 8% (≤ 6% for dehydrated flakes), volatile oil ≥ 1.5 ml/100 g, total ash ≤ 8%, acid-insoluble ash ≤ 1.5% and extraneous matter ≤ 0.5%, with Salmonella absent and pesticide, ETO and aflatoxin results within buyer limits.
What is the difference between ginger slices and dry ginger?
Dry ginger is the whole scraped rhizome, sun-dried. Slices are cut before drying, so they dry faster and more evenly, look brighter and are easier to infuse or grind.
Are dehydrated ginger flakes better than sun-dried slices?
For teas and ready-to-eat foods, usually yes: dehydrated flakes have lower moisture, even colour and lower microbial counts. Sun-dried slices cost less and suit grinding and extraction.
What is the HS code for dried ginger slices?
Dried ginger slices are usually exported from India under 0910 11 20 (dried ginger, unbleached); some exporters use 0910 11 90. Confirm the code with your customs broker.
Do ginger slices need an ETO certificate for the EU?
Yes. Indian ginger (CN 0910 11) is in Annex II of Regulation (EU) 2019/1793 for ethylene oxide, so EU consignments need an official certificate and lab results.
Who exports dried ginger slices from India?
Elysium Agri Corporation, based in Jamnagar, Gujarat, exports sun-dried and dehydrated ginger slices with lot-wise pesticide, ETO, aflatoxin and micro testing and Spices Board clearance.
