De-Oiled Rice Bran (DORB)
De-oiled rice bran (DORB), or rice bran extraction, is the meal left after oil is solvent-extracted from rice bran. Elysium Agri exports Indian DORB with 14–16% protein and oil below 1% for cattle, poultry and fish feed, and India's export ban on DORB has been lifted since 3 October 2025.
India is the world's largest DORB exporter when exports are open: 5.95 lakh tonnes in 2022-23, mainly to Vietnam, Thailand and Bangladesh. With record rice stocks, DORB supply is high in 2026.

DORB Price: What Sets It
DORB is priced per metric tonne ex-plant or FAS, on protein and sand / silica.
- Rice crop and stocks: record rice stocks mean more bran.
- Rice bran oil demand: more extraction means more DORB.
- Export policy: the 2023–25 ban depressed prices; exports are now open.
- Competing feeds: DDGS and maize compete in feed mills.
- Silica and protein: clean, higher-protein DORB earns a premium.
Prices move with the crop and the market, so we quote on the day. Tell us your grade, quantity and port for a current FOB, CFR or CIF price.
Tested, Certified and Traceable
Sand / silica is checked on every lot, because husk and dust are the most common reasons DORB is claimed.
- Lot sampling at loading
- Proximate analysis, sand / silica and aflatoxin B1 tests
- Phytosanitary, fumigation and export documents

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is DORB?
DORB is de-oiled rice bran: the meal left after oil is solvent-extracted from rice bran. It is used mainly in cattle, poultry and fish feed.
Can DORB be exported from India?
Yes. India banned DORB exports from July 2023, and DGFT lifted the ban on 3 October 2025 (Notification 37/2025-26). Exports are now "Free".
What is the protein content of de-oiled rice bran?
DORB typically has 14–16% crude protein, oil below 1%, fibre up to 12–14% and moisture up to 11–12%.
What is sand / silica in DORB?
It is the acid-insoluble ash from husk and dust. Export buyers usually cap it at 2–3%, because more silica means less feed value.
Which countries import Indian DORB?
Vietnam, Thailand and Bangladesh are the main buyers, with Nepal buying since exports reopened in October 2025.
What is the HS code for de-oiled rice bran?
India has no separate code for DORB; DGFT's DORB notifications covered 2302 40 00, 2306 90 19, 2306 90 29 and 2306 90 90.
Who exports DORB from India?
Elysium Agri Corporation, based in Jamnagar, Gujarat, exports de-oiled rice bran in bags and pellets, with lot-wise protein and silica testing.
