Ginger Powder (Dry Ginger Powder)
Elysium Agri exports bulk ginger powder (dry ginger powder, sonth powder) ground from Indian dry ginger to 60–100 mesh. It is made for spice brands, blenders, bakeries and beverage and supplement makers, with volatile oil of at least 1.0 ml/100 g (1.5+ on request) and every lot tested for pesticides, ethylene oxide, aflatoxin, lead and microbiology.
Ginger powder is only as good as the dry ginger it is ground from. We grind unbleached, scraped ginger with no added colour, starch or fillers, and offer steam-sterilised powder for buyers who need low microbial counts.

Ginger Powder Price: What Sets It
Ginger powder is priced per metric tonne FOB. It tracks the dry ginger price, plus grinding, sterilising and packing.
- Dry ginger price: the raw material cost, set by the Kerala and Karnataka crop.
- Volatile oil grade: premium 1.5%+ powder needs better ginger.
- Mesh: finer powder takes more milling.
- Steam sterilisation: low-micro powder costs more.
- Packing: private-label retail packs vs 25 kg bulk bags.
Prices move with the crop and the market, so we quote on the day. Tell us your grade, quantity and port for a current FOB, CFR or CIF price.
Tested, Certified and Traceable
Every lot of ginger powder is sampled and tested at an NABL-accredited or Spices Board lab for pesticide residues, ethylene oxide, aflatoxin, ochratoxin, lead and Salmonella. Indian ginger is listed in Annex II of the EU's border-control regulation for ethylene oxide (20% checks, Regulation (EU) 2019/1793 as amended by 2026/1206), so EU shipments carry the official ETO certificate. Powder is also checked for added colours and starch.
- Lot sampling (Spices Board / NABL-accredited lab)
- Pesticides, ETO, aflatoxin, ochratoxin, lead and Salmonella tests

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the specification of ginger powder for export?
Export ginger powder typically has 95% through 60–100 mesh, moisture ≤ 10%, volatile oil ≥ 1.0 ml/100 g (1.5 for premium), total ash ≤ 8%, acid-insoluble ash ≤ 1.0% and calcium ≤ 1.1%, with Salmonella absent and pesticide, ETO, aflatoxin and lead results within buyer limits.
What is the HS code for ginger powder?
Ginger powder is exported from India under ITC-HS 0910 12 10. Other crushed or ground ginger is 0910 12 90.
Is dry ginger powder the same as ginger powder?
Yes. Ginger powder, dry ginger powder and sonth powder all mean ground dried ginger. It is not the same as ginger extract, which is concentrated for gingerols.
Which mesh size of ginger powder should I buy?
60 mesh suits spice blends and seasonings, 80 mesh suits retail packs and sauces, and 100 mesh suits bakery, drinks and capsules, where a fine, even powder matters.
Is your ginger powder steam-sterilised?
Steam-sterilised ginger powder is available on request for buyers who need total plate count ≤ 10⁴ cfu/g.
Does Indian ginger powder need an ETO certificate for the EU?
Yes. Indian ginger, including ground ginger (CN 0910 12), is in Annex II of Regulation (EU) 2019/1793 for ethylene oxide, so EU consignments need an official certificate and lab results.
Who exports ginger powder from India?
Elysium Agri Corporation, based in Jamnagar, Gujarat, exports bulk ginger powder in 60–100 mesh, with lot-wise pesticide, ETO, aflatoxin, lead and micro testing and Spices Board clearance.
