Indian Yellow Corn (Maize Grain)
Elysium Agri exports Indian yellow maize (corn) for feed mills, starch makers and food processors. Indian maize is non-GMO (no GM corn is approved for cultivation in India), and we supply feed and food grades with moisture below 14% and every lot tested for aflatoxin.
India produced a record 46 million tonnes of maize in 2025-26 (government estimate). After two quiet years, Indian maize exports are rising again in 2026 on competitive prices, mainly to Nepal, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Which Maize Grade Do You Need?
Maize is sold by end use; the aflatoxin limit is the biggest difference.
| Grade | Moisture / FM | Aflatoxin | Typical buyers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Feed grade | ≤ 14% / ≤ 2% | ≤ 20 ppb (B1, EU feed) | Poultry and cattle feed mills |
| Starch / industrial | ≤ 14% / ≤ 1% | Per buyer | Starch, ethanol, industrial |
| Food grade (sorted / processed) | ≤ 13% / ≤ 1% | B1 ≤ 5, total ≤ 10 µg/kg (EU) | Millers of grits, flour and snacks |
| Food grade (direct use) | ≤ 12–13% / ≤ 1% | B1 ≤ 2, total ≤ 4 µg/kg (EU) | Direct human consumption |

Maize Price: What Sets It
Indian maize is priced per metric tonne FOB. Ethanol demand has made Indian maize prices more volatile since 2023.
- Crop size: kharif and rabi harvests.
- Ethanol demand: distilleries now compete with feed mills.
- Support price: MSP 2026-27 is ₹2,410 per quintal.
- World prices: US, Brazil and Ukraine corn plus freight to Asia.
- Aflatoxin grade: low-aflatoxin food grade costs more.
Prices move with the crop and the market, so we quote on the day. Tell us your grade, quantity and port for a current FOB, CFR or CIF price.
Tested, Certified and Traceable
Aflatoxin is tested per lot, because it is the main reason maize is rejected.
- Lot sampling
- Moisture, quality, mycotoxin and pesticide tests
- Phytosanitary, fumigation and export documents

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is Indian maize non-GMO?
Yes. India has not approved any genetically modified maize for cultivation, so Indian maize is non-GMO.
What is the specification of Indian yellow maize for export?
Typically moisture ≤ 14%, foreign matter ≤ 1–2%, broken ≤ 3–4%, damaged ≤ 2–3% and aflatoxin ≤ 20 ppb for feed, or EU food limits (B1 ≤ 5, total ≤ 10 µg/kg for processing).
What is the HS code for maize?
Maize (other than seed) is exported from India under ITC-HS 1005 90 00.
Does India still export maize?
Yes. Exports fell in 2024 as ethanol demand grew, but recovered in 2025 and are rising in 2026, mainly to Nepal, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
How many tonnes of maize fit in a 20 ft container?
About 24–26 MT in 50 kg bags; larger volumes move in bulk vessels.
Who exports yellow maize from India?
Elysium Agri Corporation, based in Jamnagar, Gujarat, exports non-GMO Indian yellow maize in feed and food grades, with aflatoxin testing on every lot.
