Wheat Flour (Chakki Atta, Maida and Suji)
Elysium Agri exports Indian wheat flour: whole wheat chakki atta for rotis and chapatis, refined maida for bakery, and semolina (suji / rava).
Indian atta is milled from Indian hard wheat for soft, pliable rotis, and it is a staple for South Asian communities worldwide. Even during the export restrictions, India shipped over 1 lakh tonnes of flour a year to the USA, Canada, the UK and the UAE.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can wheat flour (atta) be exported from India?
Yes. On 24 August 2026 India moved atta, maida, semolina and wholemeal atta (HS 1101) from "Prohibited" to "Free" for export (DGFT Notification 34/2026-27).
What is the difference between atta and maida?
Atta is whole wheat flour including the bran, used for rotis and chapatis. Maida is refined white flour from the endosperm, used for bread, cakes and naan.
What is the specification of chakki atta for export?
Typically moisture ≤ 13–14%, total ash ≤ 2.0% (dry basis), acid-insoluble ash ≤ 0.15%, dry gluten ≥ 6%, alcoholic acidity ≤ 0.18% and at least 98% through a 500 µm sieve, per FSSAI.
What is the HS code for wheat flour?
Indian atta, maida and semolina are exported under ITC-HS 1101 00 00.
What is the shelf life of atta?
Whole wheat atta keeps about 3–6 months in cool, dry, sealed storage, because the bran oils can go rancid.
