Rapeseed Meal, Rice Bran and Feed Ingredients from India for Vietnam's Feed Mills
Meals tested lot by lot, so the protein and fibre in your formulation match what arrives at your mill.
Feed mills in Vietnam can buy rapeseed meal, de-oiled rice bran, soybean meal, corn DDGS and oilseed de-oiled cakes from Elysium Agri Corporation, an exporter in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The USDA's Hanoi office names India as the largest supplier of rapeseed meal to Vietnam. UN Comtrade data put India's exports of feed residues and meals to Vietnam at about US$236 million in 2025.
Your formulation depends on the protein, fibre and moisture you were promised. Each lot is therefore tested at an NABL-accredited lab, and the results reach you on a Certificate of Analysis.

What Feed Ingredients Need to Enter Vietnam
Animal feed in Vietnam is regulated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. Feed ingredients must stay within the limits on undesirable substances set in the national standard QCVN 01-190:2020. Plant-origin meals also pass plant quarantine.
- A Certificate of Analysis showing the lot against the QCVN 01-190:2020 limits. Send the parameters your mill checks.
- A phytosanitary certificate from India, and plant-quarantine clearance on your side.
- An AITIGA certificate of origin. Duty rates for oil meals differ by HS line, so ask your broker to confirm the rate before you order.
Bulk, Bags and Ports
- Southern mills usually discharge at Cat Lai or Cai Mep - Thi Vai. Northern mills use Hai Phong.
- Typical container transit from Mundra is about 11 to 14 days, depending on the port.
- Compare origins on cost with the Landed Cost Calculator.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the lot be tested against QCVN 01-190:2020 before it ships?
Yes. Tell us which undesirable substances and limits your mill or your customs agent checks. The lot is tested at an NABL-accredited lab and the results appear on the Certificate of Analysis. See Lab Testing.
Is Indian soybean meal a practical option for my mill?
The USDA lists India among Vietnam's soybean meal suppliers, though India is a smaller origin than Argentina, Brazil and the United States. It can serve as a second source when the landed cost works for you. Send your protein specification and compare the quote.
How do I know the protein level will match the contract?
Your specification is written into the quote. Each lot is tested before loading, and you may appoint SGS, Bureau Veritas or Intertek to sample at the loading point. See also Traceability.
Does the ASEAN-India agreement reduce duty on feed meals?
It can. Indian-origin goods shipped with an AITIGA certificate of origin take the preferential rate for their HS line, but some lines sit on sensitive lists. Your customs broker should confirm the rate for each meal before you order.
