SEED SPICES AND TURMERIC • EXPORT TO TURKEY

Cumin, Coriander and Turmeric from India for Turkey's Spice Packers and Wholesalers

Whole seed spices, turmeric and dry ginger from Gujarat, with sample, label text and test list approved by you before packing.

Spice packers and wholesalers in Turkey buy Indian cumin (kimyon), coriander and fennel in volume. India shipped about US$19.1 million of seed spices to Turkey in 2025. Elysium Agri Corporation supplies these, with fenugreek, black cumin, turmeric and dry ginger, from Gujarat, India, through Mundra, Kandla or Pipavav.

Spices (baharat) are judged pack by pack. Your customer sees colour, aroma and cleanliness. MinAF sees the label. So you approve the sample, the cleaning grade and the Turkish label text before packing, and the lot is tested against the parameters you name.

Bulk Bags or Consumer Packs: What MinAF Checks

Spices enter Turkey as plant-origin food under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MinAF). Consumer packs need more label work than bulk bags.

  • Before arrival you pre-notify each product in MinAF's Food Safety Information System (FSIS), with its name, category, origin and ingredients.
  • The Turkish label must be on the pack before official controls begin. It shows the food name, ingredients, allergens, net quantity, date, storage conditions, operator, facility registration number, origin and nutrition declaration.
  • For consumer packs, you receive the ingredient list and label draft for approval before printing.
  • A phytosanitary certificate from India travels with each shipment.
  • No trade agreement applies, so you pay standard (MFN) rates. Find your code with the HS code finder and ask your broker for the live rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a halal certificate needed for spices in Turkey?

Not by law for plant products. Some Turkish buyers ask for it as a preference.

Which test parameters appear on the Certificate of Analysis?

The ones you name. Tell us what your quality team checks, and the NABL-accredited lab tests the lot against that list. Your broker confirms current Turkish limits. See lab testing.

Can you pack cumin under my brand with a Turkish label?

You are the operator named on the label, so you supply or approve the Turkish text before printing. Packs are labelled before loading.

Can I see a sample before I order?

Yes. You may also appoint SGS, Bureau Veritas or Intertek to inspect the lot before loading.
