Indian Jeera, Turmeric and Seed Spices for Bangladesh Importers and Packers

Whole spices from Gujarat, cleaned to the grade your market sells, with a lab report for every lot.

Bangladesh buyers ask for Indian jeera by name, and the trade treats it as a different product from Iranian cumin. Elysium Agri Corporation supplies that cumin, with coriander, fennel, fenugreek, black cumin, turmeric and dry ginger, to importers, wholesalers and spice packers in Bangladesh.

India's seed spice exports to Bangladesh were about US$89 million in 2025, and the ginger and turmeric group added about US$97 million. With so many Indian suppliers in the market, what you can check matters most: the cleaning grade, the moisture and the test report for your lot.

Import Rules for Spices in Bangladesh

Spices are exempt from the radiation certificate that most food cargo needs in Bangladesh. The plant-quarantine steps still apply in full.

  • A plant-quarantine import permit, obtained by the importer for each consignment and valid for four months.
  • A phytosanitary certificate quoting the permit number, with a free-of-soil statement.
  • A fumigation certificate, a health certificate and a certificate of origin.
  • BSTI tests products under a mandatory Bangladesh standard on arrival. Ask your clearing agent whether yours is covered.
  • Consumer packs need a label or sub-label in Bangla, with the importer's name and address.
  • Import tax is a stack of duties, VAT and advance taxes that differs by HS line. Find your code in the HS code finder and confirm the rate locally.

Packing and Shipping

  • Sea freight to Chattogram or Mongla with transshipment. Some buyers prefer a land port such as Petrapole-Benapole or Bhomra. Land-port rules have changed since 2025, so routing and transit are confirmed with each quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is your cumin the Indian jeera sold in Bangladesh markets?

Yes. The cumin is Indian origin, cleaned at specialist units in Gujarat, and the certificate of origin states India. Tell us the purity and cleaning grade your customers expect, or send a reference sample, and the quote is matched to it.

Are spices exempt from the radiation certificate?

Yes. Bangladesh requires a radiation certificate for most food and feed, but spices are exempt. You still need the import permit, the phytosanitary certificate and the fumigation certificate. Pulses or grains in the same shipment are not exempt.

Can you supply turmeric and cumin in one container?

Each product is packed, marked and tested as its own lot, and the documents list every item separately. Plan the split with the container load calculator.

What does the lab report cover?

Each export lot is tested at an NABL-accredited lab and comes with a Certificate of Analysis. The parameters follow your specification, for example purity and moisture. You may also appoint SGS, Bureau Veritas or Intertek. See quality.
