Roasted Chickpeas (Roasted Chana)
Elysium Agri supplies roasted chickpeas (roasted chana, bhuna chana) in bulk for export, in three forms: with skin, without skin (peeled) and split (roasted chana dal). They are sand-roasted from bold desi chana in Gujarat's Rajkot–Gondal roasting belt, crisp, low in moisture and tested as a ready-to-eat food.
Roasted chana is a high-protein snack (about 20 g of protein per 100 g) and a staple ingredient for chutneys, sattu and snack mixes. Most Indian exports go to the USA, the Gulf, the UK, Canada, Australia and Southeast Asia.

Roasted Chana Price: What Sets It
Roasted chana is priced per kilo in India and per metric tonne FOB for export. It follows the raw desi chana price plus roasting and processing costs.
- Raw chana price: the main cost; the gram MSP is ₹5,875 per quintal for 2026-27.
- Form: removing the skin and splitting add processing cost.
- Seed size: bold seed costs more and roasts better.
- Packing: retail packs and nitrogen flushing cost more than bulk bags.
- Freight: light cargo means fewer tonnes per container.
Prices move with the crop and the market, so we quote on the day. Tell us your grade, quantity and port for a current FOB, CFR or CIF price.
Tested, Certified and Traceable
Roasted chana is a ready-to-eat food, so every lot of roasted chana is tested for moisture, Salmonella, E. coli, yeast and mould and aflatoxin at an NABL-accredited lab, and packed in lined bags to keep it crisp.

What are roasted chickpeas?

What is the difference between roasted chana with skin and without skin?
Roasted chana with skin keeps its brown seed coat and has an earthier taste; without skin, the coat is removed after roasting, giving yellow, round, milder chana. Split roasted chana (roasted chana dal) is the peeled chana broken into halves.
What is the specification of roasted chana for export?
Export roasted chana typically has moisture ≤ 5% (about 3%), broken ≤ 1–2%, no visible foreign matter, Salmonella absent in 25 g, E. coli < 10 cfu/g and aflatoxin within buyer limits.
What is the HS code for roasted chickpeas?
Indian exporters use 2008 19 40 (other roasted vegetable products) or 2106 90 99; importing countries usually classify roasted chickpea snacks under 2005 99. Confirm the code with your customs broker.
