CUMIN AND SEED SPICES • EXPORT TO UZBEKISTAN

Indian Cumin and Seed Spices for Uzbekistan, Cleaned and Tested to Your Specification

Cumin (zira), coriander, fennel, fenugreek and turmeric from Gujarat, supplied in lots you can check before loading.

Elysium Agri Corporation supplies Indian cumin seed and other seed spices to importers, bazaar wholesalers and spice packers in Uzbekistan. Lots are cleaned at specialist units in Gujarat, tested at an NABL-accredited lab and loaded at Mundra, Kandla or Pipavav. Uzbekistan reported about 2,900 tonnes of cumin from India in 2024.

That makes Uzbekistan the largest buyer of Indian cumin in Central Asia. India's seed spice exports to Uzbekistan reached about US$6.7 million in 2025. Your customers already know the product, so cleaning, consistency and correct papers decide the order.

What Spices Need to Enter Uzbekistan

Spices are plant products, so they pass both quarantine and sanitary control in Uzbekistan. Rules have changed several times since 2023, so confirm them with your broker for each shipment.

  • A phytosanitary certificate from India's plant protection authority for every shipment.
  • A sanitary-epidemiological conclusion, obtained by the importer and issued electronically.
  • A declaration of conformity recorded in Uzbekistan's Technical Regulation Information System.
  • Uzbek labelling in Latin script on consumer packs. Spices imported in bulk bags without consumer packaging are exempt.
  • Import VAT of 12 percent. The duty rate for your HS code should be checked with your broker.

Packing and Shipping

  • Wooden pallets, where used, are ISPM-15 treated.
  • Sea from Gujarat, then rail to Sergeli station, Tashkent. Routes through Iran are disrupted at present, so routing and transit are confirmed with each quote.
  • Plan your load with the container load calculator.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which cumin grade should I order for the Uzbek market?

That depends on your sales channel. Tell us the purity, moisture and packing you need, or send a reference sample, and the quote is matched to it. No grade is assumed on your behalf.

How can I check the quality before the lot leaves India?

Each lot has a Certificate of Analysis from an NABL-accredited lab. You may also appoint SGS, Bureau Veritas or Intertek to inspect before loading.

Is a phytosanitary certificate needed for every shipment?

Yes. Uzbekistan requires an IPPC phytosanitary certificate with each shipment of plant products. Ask the Agency for Quarantine and Plant Protection whether you also need an import quarantine permit before shipment; we confirm this with your quote.

When is the new cumin crop available?

Availability changes through the year with the Indian harvest. See the crop calendar for timing, and ask for current crop availability when you send your quote request.
